DETAILS: In honor of the inauguration of Pope Francis, Catholic University professors Rev. Regis Armstrong, O.F.M. Cap., and Joshua Benson, Ph.D. - experts on aspects of the Franciscan ministry - will speak as part of a lecture titled "St. Francis of Assisi: History, Significance, and Resources."
  • Father Armstrong, John C. and Gertrude P. Hubbard Professor of Religious Studies, is an expert on Francis and Clare of Assisi, among other topics.
  • Benson, assistant professor of systematic theology, is an expert on the history of Franciscan thought. He holds a master's degree in Franciscan studies from the Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University.
