The 2013-2014 fall and winter books edition of The Catholic University of America Press catalog , now available online and in hard copy, features a number of new books as well as news of the press's expanding distribution agreements.
Among the books featured is The American Constitution and Religion by Richard J. Regan. CUA Press Director Trevor Lipscombe calls the book "a brief and clear overview of the Supreme Court and the First Amendment that should be compelling reading for all Court-watchers." CUA Press also published Regan's last book, Just War: Principles and Cases, Second Edition .
Another returning author is Rev. James Schall, S.J. His newest book, Political Philosophy and Revelation , offers a set of essays that "enlighten the reader about the interplay of philosophy and theology," writes Lipscombe in the catalog.
As part of its distribution partnership with Sapientia Press, the publishing division of Ave Maria University, CUA Press offers The Magisterium by the late Cardinal Avery Dulles; The Privilege of Being a Woman by Alice von Hildebrand; and The Tiber Was Silver , a novel by Michael Novak telling the story of a young man contemplating the call to religious life. A full list of available titles can be found in the new catalog.
CUA Press also has become the distributor of the Bulletin of Medieval Canon Law , an addition that will bring the journal to a broader audience of those interested in medieval history as well as medieval canon law. The Bulletin is co-edited by Kenneth Pennington, professor of law and Kelly-Quinn Professor of Ecclesiastical History at Catholic University.
The Catholic University of America Press publishes scholarly works and serious studies of general interest in history (ecclesiastical and secular), literature and languages, philosophy, political theory, and theology.
