The Catholic University of America will host a one-hour panel discussion on veterans' issues with three CUA professors at noon on Monday, Nov. 11, in Great Room A of the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center.Each professor will speak briefly prior to the panel discussion and Q-and-A session. Speakers include:

• Janice Agazio, associate professor of nursing, who will talk about her work on military nursing care delivery.
• Karlynn BrintzenhofeSzoc, associate professor of social work, who will discuss the National Catholic School of Social Service's doctoral program for active duty service members.
• David Jobes, professor of psychology, who will discuss his research on soldier suicide.

That same day, the Metropolitan School of Professional Studies will host a Veterans Day dessert and coffee hour from 5 to 6 p.m. in Pangborn Hall, Room 323A. Cards, letters of appreciation, and donations of care package items to be sent to troops overseas will be collected at this event. Donations also can be dropped off through Friday, Nov. 15, in the school's office in Pangborn Hall, Room 334. There are approximately 130 students at CUA who identify themselves as military (veterans, active duty, or reserves). In September, the University was named to the Military Friendly Schools list by Victory Media, a media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. The list honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans, and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.
