  • INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS - Maryann Cusimano Love, associate professor of politics, and fellow of the Institute for Policy Research and Catholic Studies is a member of the Core Group advising the Secretary of State on religion and foreign policy, and was a fellow at the Commission on International Religious Freedom, which provides independent policy recommendations to the President, the Secretary of State, and Congress. In addition to being the author of many international relations books, she has written "Catholic Women Peacebuilders." She serves as an adviser to the U.S. Catholic bishops, the Catholic Peacebuilding Network, Jesuit Refugee Services, Georgetown's Institute for the Study of Diplomacy, and is a columnist for America magazine, where she received a 2009 Best Columnist Catholic Press Award.   • WOMEN IN THE CHURCH - Melissa Moschella, assistant professor of philosophy, is an expert in marriage and sexual ethics, and parental rights in education and school choice, among other topics. Her essay, "Personal Identity and Gender: A Revised Aristotelian Approach," was published in the book, "Gender Identities in a Globalized World," in 2008.   • WOMEN AND CATHOLIC THOUGHT - Lucia Silecchia, professor of law, teaches, writes, and speaks on various aspects of Catholic social thought. She directs the law school's International Human Rights Summer Law Program in Rome and is particularly interested in the relationship of Catholic social thought to education, women, the elderly and disabled, and ecological questions.
