Heidi Siebentritt, preservation planner in the Loudon County (Va.) Department of Planning, will speak on "Local Government's Modern Dilemma: Historic Preservation and Managing Landuse, Development, Community, and Heritage." Siebentritt has worked for Loudon County for 16 years. Her job involves ensuring the county's historic resources are preserved amidst rapid development and growth in the county. Last year, Forbes named Loudon County the second fastest growing in the United States.

Between 2010 and 2012, the county experienced a 7.87 percent population increase. In 2012, Leesburg Today profiled her in a feature on "Women Who Mean Business."

Her presentation will center on how her job has evolved and what it entails in terms of land use, human landscape, cultural resources, and local/state politics.

The talk is free and open to the public.
