Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (B.A. 1985) will deliver a policy address at The Catholic University of America on Thursday, Nov. 13, titled "An Economy with a Human Purpose - Better Choices for Greater Middle Class Opportunity."
The event, which will take place at 5 p.m. in Caldwell Hall Auditorium, is sponsored by the Institute for Policy Research & Catholic Studies (IPR) as part of its National Policy Forum.
O'Malley's address will be followed by a panel discussion of analysts and scholars, among them Norman J. Ornstein, resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.
"We're honored to host Governor O'Malley's policy address on 'An Economy with a Human Purpose,'" said IPR Director Stephen Schneck. "At a time when many are worried that the economic future for their children will fall short of the American dream, we're excited to be the venue for this important discussion."
O'Malley earned his bachelor's degree from Catholic University in 1985. O'Malley's address will be the second in the new National Policy Forum initiated by IPR. On July 23, IPR and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention hosted an address by Florida Senator Marco Rubio on the topic of values.
