Bishop Robert Barron, auxiliary bishop of Los Angeles and founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries, stopped by a brunch being held by Light the World! on Saturday, July 14. Light the World! is a summer institute for high schoolers hosted by Catholic University students that focuses on how faith and culture can intersect. The bishop, who earned a master’s degree in philosophy from Catholic University in 1982, was visiting campus while filming season two of his Pivotal Players program. His crew captured footage in Catholic University Archives and Room 112 McMahon Hall for an episode on Archbishop Fulton Sheen, also an alumnus of the University, who taught at Catholic University from 1926 to 1950. Visit Word on Fire for behind-the-scenes footage of Bishop Barron’s trip to Washington and a preview of the episode on Archbishop Sheen.
