Seth GodinThe Busch School of Business at The Catholic University of America is excited to announce that best-selling author Seth Godin, known as the “The Father of Permission Marketing”, will be sharing his insights with students, faculty, and guests on Friday, Sept.14, at 9 a.m. in Father O'Connell Hall’s Heritage Hall.

In addition to launching one of the most popular blogs in the world, Godin has written 18 best-selling books, including The Dip, Linchpin, Purple Cow, Tribes, and What To Do When It's Your Turn (And It's Always Your Turn). By focusing on everything from effective marketing and leadership to the spread of ideas and changing everything, he has been able to motivate and inspire countless people around the world.

Godin was invited to speak at the Busch School after Luke Burgis, entrepreneur-in-residence at the Ciocca Center for Principled Entrepreneurship at the Busch School, participated in Godin's "altMBA" program this year.

"The altMBA was a wonderful experience,” he says “It's about creating real value in human relationships, which are at the heart of business. Seth's message seemed like a perfect fit for what we're doing at the Busch School."

Godin has a unique connection to the Busch School. Dean Bill Bowman was Seth’s first boss.

“Seth reminds us that effective marketing changes the world,” the dean says. “Its tools of emotional connection, empathy, storytelling, and gift-giving may be more effective than Big Data and digital marketing. He then challenges us to aim at the heart, not just the brain, and not to stop until the world is changed.”
