The president of the U.S. bishops’ conference, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, will address the Church crisis at Catholic University’s conference series Healing the Breach of Trust. The archbishop of Galveston-Houston will speak on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 9:30 a.m. in Heritage Hall (located in Father O’Connell Hall on the Catholic University campus).
The Healing the Breach of Trust conference series addresses the proper role of laity in the Church, the factors that led to the sex abuse crisis, and how the laity and the clergy can work together toward renewal. The Feb. 6 conference will specifically address theological and historical grounds for lay involvement in the Church, as a part of the solution to the crisis.
Other speakers include Sr. Nancy Bauer, O.S.B. (Catholic U), Carlos Eire (Yale), Bronwen McShea (Princeton), Michael Root (Catholic U), and Chris Ruddy (Catholic U). The format of the conference will include presentations and Q-and-A.
The event is free and open to the public. For a full schedule, more information, or to RSVP, visit HealingtheBreach.org.
