Members of Catholic University’s Class of 2020 will have their moment in the sun and a reunion with friends when they don their caps and gowns for an in-person graduation ceremony on Oct. 15, 4 p.m., at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception — 17 months after their original in-person commencement was cancelled by the pandemic.
The graduates and their families will hear from their original commencement speaker, Kevin Ryan, B.A. '89. Ryan is president and CEO of Covenant House International, one of the largest charities in North and Central America serving homeless, trafficked, and sexually exploited youth.
The Class of 2020 had a virtual ceremony in May 2020 and received their diplomas by mail.
After commencement, the graduates will process out the East Portico doors and through a giant balloon arch where Cardinal Fest will be underway.
