Catholic University's football receiver Preston Jeffrey was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The exciting Division III action of Cardinal athletics is resulting in some of the top performances early in the Landmark Conference’s season.

Football wide receiver Preston Jeffrey earned the Landmark Conference's inaugural Offensive Player of the Week award after his performance against McDaniel in a 34-7 season-opening win on Sept. 1. 

He caught five passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns, including a 93-yard score. Jeffrey now has six 100-plus-yard receiving games in his career and has reached the 20-career touchdown mark.

It’s Jeffrey’s first Landmark Conference athlete of the week honor. He was also cited by the DC Touchdown Club, earning a spot on the Washington Metro College Football Player of the Week Honor Roll.

After a historic opening weekend that saw the Catholic University field hockey team knock off two nationally-ranked programs, two Cardinals have earned Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week honors.

Niki Micciche shined for the field hockey team and was named Offensive Player of the Week in the Landmark Conference.

Mary Rojack, Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year in 2022, was named defensive player of the week after a massive game on Friday afternoon while junior Niki Micciche earned the nod as offensive player of the week thanks to big contributions for the Cardinals on Sunday.

It was Rojack who scored both goals in Catholic's 2-1 double-overtime victory over No. 11 The College of New Jersey on Sept. 1. 

Micciche was key as Catholic knocked off No. 3 Rowan at Cardinal Stadium on Sept. 3. The forward scored  just four minutes into the contest. She then scored followed a penalty corner early in the fourth quarter to secure the victory over Rowan.
