The Catholic University of America hosted its second annual Mañanitas a la Virgen celebration, honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, in the Mexican tradition, on Dec. 12 at St. Vincent’s Chapel.

Organized by Campus Ministry and the Center for Cultural Engagement, the celebration and Mass featured a serenade to Our Lady of Guadalupe by the mariachi band, Mariachi Son de America. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Evelio Menjivar-Ayala of the Archdiocese of Washington. The event is 

In the spirit of honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, Bishop Menjivar-Ayala offered reflections on the significance of her apparitions to Saint Juan Diego in 1531 and their transformative impact on the American continent.
