The Catholic University of America’s well-earned national reputation as a comprehensive higher education and research institution was further solidified by the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 graduate school rankings.
In the just published rankings, The National Catholic School of Social Service’s Master of Social Work was named as the 60th best program in the nation. The University’s Columbus School of Law jumped an impressive 28 spots to 94th in the country.
Jo Ann Regan, dean of the School of Social Work, said: “It is a great thrill to see our Master of Social Work (MSW) program continue its rise in the U.S. News & World Report rankings of social work programs. The latest ranking is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our alumni, students, faculty, and staff who continue to build on the proud 100-plus-year tradition of the National Catholic School of Social Service.”
Regan added that it was an honor to be in the top tier of programs in the nation.
“We will continue to seek excellence in our program, providing students with a social work degree that they can use in their work helping people and contributing to improving the human person and our society,” Regan said.
The Columbus School of Law’s ranking places it now third overall in Washington, D.C. and Dean Stephen C Payne said the momentum is only just beginning.
“Catholic Law will always be about far more than this one ranking,” Dean Payne said in a statement. “Just this year, Law.com placed us in the top-50 of schools sending graduates into BigLaw. We have always been proud of the comparatively high percentage of our graduates entering public service, and preLaw magazine again this year ranked our building in the top-10 in the nation. Beyond those accolades, and most important, we are a unique and especially supportive community in which our faculty, staff, and alumni are focused on student success, in law and life. The release of the U.S. News rankings today is just one of many indicators that Catholic Law is a school on the rise.”
