The Catholic University of America hosted 43 Brazilian students, as part of the summer research internship program managed by the Center for Global Education and the School of Engineering.
The Brazilian Scientific Mobility Program (BSMP) –a summer research internship program funded by the Brazilian government– grants scholarships for Brazilian students to study at colleges and universities in the United States in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The 43 undergraduate scholars hosted at Catholic University were encouraged to present their research in the fields of engineering and computer science during a poster session held in Pangborn Hall.
Besides the valuable academic and professional experience, the University offered students trips to the White House, the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and other interesting places located in the D.C. area.
