Enrique Pumar, associate professor and chair of sociology, has been named a Senior Fulbright Lecturer. For two months, beginning April 27, he will be working at the University of Valladolid in Valladolid, Spain, lecturing and helping to create a research institute on international migration.
He has also been invited to preside over a doctoral dissertation at the Universidad del País Vasco.
Pumar’s research has focused largely on Latino immigration in the Washington, D.C. area. He has worked with the Smithsonian Institution’s Latino Center and is an affiliated scholar in the Institute for the Study of International Migration at Georgetown University.
