Today’s Washington Post features a story about Force of Habit, a band led by four sisters, religious in residence who are studying at Catholic University. Band members include Sister Miriam Holzman on piano, Sister Peter Grace Weber on bass guitar, Sister Louis Marie Zogg on saxophone, and Sister Mary André Thelen on trumpet. The sisters are members of the Michigan-based Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist. The band also includes Brother Brad Elliott, O.P., the drummer and a Dominican friar, and Rev. Jude DeAngelo, University chaplain and director of Campus Ministry, who provides vocals.
The story notes that the band, which has performed at four campus events this academic year, performs classics like “Unforgettable” and “What a Wonderful World.”
