Members of the Catholic University Class of 2022 received messages of inspiration and encouragement during a convocation ceremony on Sept. 12 in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

The ceremony concluded with students receiving University pins. The pins, which are given to every incoming freshman, are intended as a visual demonstration of their membership in the Catholic University community. Imprinted with the University motto, “Deus Lux Mea Est” (meaning “God is my light”), the pins are also a reminder of the University mission of integrating faith and reason.
