Sergeant Jorge Quesada, a new officer with the Department of Public Safety, was congratulated by University President John Garvey last week. Sergeant Quesada received the Lolita Armstrong Award for achieving the highest academic honor in his class at the Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area Public Safety Institute.
“The addition of Sergeant Quesada to the Department of Public Safety is immediately making a positive impact in keeping our campus community safe,” says Kirk McLean, associate vice president for public safety and emergency management. “Bringing this award home to CatholicU further demonstrates the level of awareness, dedication, and professionalism that is expected of our officers. I am proud of Sergeant Quesada’s achievement.”
This is the first time in Consortium Academy history — dating back to 1993 — that any CatholicU officer has received this honor. The cup will be housed at Catholic University until it is earned by an officer at another area school.
