cpa awards

Staff in the Office of Communications and Marketing racked up six Catholic Press Awards, which were announced at the end of the annual Catholic Press Conference, this year held online June 30 to July 1.

The accolades included:

"This recognition by the Catholc Press Association is a wonderful affirmation of the quality of the work created by the Marketing and Communications team,” says Chris Lydon, vice president for enrollment management and marketing. “With awards in so many categories, it signifies that the creative talents of the entire team — writers, designers, web developers, photographers, and videographers — are on display. While the Catholic Press is recognizing the quality of the team's work, equally impressive to me is the quantity of stories the department develops for a variety of media week after week after week."

The Catholic University of America Press also won two book awards this year:

  • First Place in the category “Sacraments”
Naming Our Sins: How Recognizing the Seven Deadly Vices Can Renew the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Jana M. Bennett and David Cloutier, Editors, The Catholic University of America Press
  • Second Place in the category “Anthology”
Humanae Vitae, 50 Years Later: Embracing God's Vision for Marriage, Love, and Life, A Compendium, Edited by Theresa Notare, The Catholic University of America Press

These awards are in addition to three awards CatholicU magazine won from the Catholic Press Association that were announced in May.
